Break-even is ~6 months of Pro monthly. Any longer than that and Founding is cheaper. If you plan to use Capture Club for more than half a year, Founding is the financially better choice.
Why 25 seats (not 100, not unlimited)
We're a solo-founder operation with no outside funding. Offering 1,000 lifetime deals at $249 would be $249,000 of revenue we'd never see again, bad for long-term platform health.
25 seats is intentionally small because:
- Evangelist density matters more than reach. 25 wedding pros really using and talking about the platform is worth more than 1,000 deal-hunters.
- We can talk to all of you. If you're a Founding member, we know your name, email, portfolio. You get direct access for feedback. 100 people, you get impersonal emails. 25, you get a real relationship.
- Pricing integrity. Once Founding closes, Pro at $49/month is the best deal. We don't want a permanent "lifetime" option competing with the subscription we need to survive.
- Scarcity is honest. 25 is a real cap, enforced by the platform. Once the 25th seat sells or 30 days pass from launch, the tier closes permanently and the code can't be reopened without touching production.
When it closes
Whichever comes first:
- 25 seats sold
- 30 days from launch (April 20, 2026 → May 20, 2026)
- Countdown is visible on
/foundingso you can see seats remaining in real time
After closure: the tier is gone. No "we reopened it for one day" promotions. No early-renewal. That's the trade-off you get for the permanent pricing lock.
Two paths into the Founding pool
Both count against the same 25-seat cap:
Paid path ($249 public)
Go to /founding, enter card, one-time $249 charge. Instant access.
VIP path (free via Harry-issued invites)
During the 72-hour launch window (April 20 → April 23 at 8 AM ET), people Harry personally invited could claim a free Founding seat via /founding/claim?code=VIP-XXXXX. Same seat, same benefits, $249 waived.
VIP window closed on Thursday April 23 at 8 AM ET. No more free entries. After that, only the paid $249 path remains until the 25-cap or 30-day close.
If you have a VIP code and it's past the window, reach out, we honor emails sent in good faith up to 48 hours after close.
What you don't get (Founding is not better than Pro for these)
- You don't get future tiers automatically included. If we ship a Planner tier ($149/month) in 2027, Founding membership covers the Pro-level features but not any Planner-exclusive add-ons.
- You don't get paid support calls. Priority support queue means faster ticket response, not phone calls.
- You don't get custom integrations. We're solo. No bespoke API work for individual customers.
- You don't get a vote on the roadmap. Founding members get early access to betas and product-feedback calls, but feature decisions are still ours.
- You don't get the badge shown publicly to guests. The Founding Member badge is on your profile page, visible to you and admin. Guests don't see "Founding Member" on your galleries.
If Capture Club shuts down
Real talk: we're a solo-founder SaaS. Probability is low, but let's discuss it.
If we ever shut down:
- We give 90 days advance notice to every Founding member (and every paying customer)
- You get a full data export of every event, upload, and guest comment
- We offer to migrate your galleries to a competitor if one exists that can accept them
- Your $249 is not automatically refunded (it was a one-time payment, already spent on running the platform for your tenure); we evaluate compensation case-by-case under the extenuating-circumstances clause of our Terms
If we're ever acquired: Founding membership transfers to the acquirer. Your lifetime promise doesn't evaporate. Explicit in Terms of Service.
Common Founding questions
Can I transfer my Founding seat to another person? No. It's tied to your account. If you close your account, the seat goes back into the pool if we haven't hit 25 yet.
What happens if I refund within 48 hours? Refund issued, seat goes back into the pool, next signup gets it. You can trigger the self-serve refund from /billing within the 48-hour window, or email hello@captureclub.app.
What happens after 48 hours? Founding payments are non-refundable after the 48-hour window in exchange for lifetime Pro access.
What if I want to upgrade from Pro monthly to Founding mid-year? The monthly Pro payments you've already made are non-refundable (standard subscription policy), but you can cancel Pro immediately and claim a Founding seat right away. Your Pro subscription stops future billing and you get lifetime Founding Pro access for the $249 one-time payment. Reach out via support if you want this handled with clearer timing on your billing dates.
What if Pro features change (e.g., you add a new Pro-only feature in 2027)? You get it. Founding = every Pro feature forever, including future ones.
Do Founding members have a private Slack or community? Not yet. Might build one once 25 seats sell and we have a critical mass.
Is there a public "Founding Member" list? Not automatically. If you want to be featured as a Founding Member (portfolio link, testimonial), we'd love that, reach out and we'll add you to the /pro landing page.
